Q&A: Okemo Bike Park!!
What was the driving force to open a bike park at Okemo Mountain Resort?
Our goal was to expand our summer operations and introduce lift served mountain biking to the Okemo valley.
Is the bike park open 7 days a week?
Yes it will be from June 25th- Aug 28th (before/after weekends and holidays only)
How many visitors do you get in a weekend/season at the bike park? Where do your riders come from, nearby or do they come from far away?
Last season was our grand opening and we averaged about 100 riders per weekend and 1500 for the season. The riders were a mix of locals and down country visitors.
What is the most popular trail?
Flow Rider
Will there be any new trails added this season or will you be re-developing any existing trails?
We are always looking for ways to improve and expand our park. Our plan is to generate expansion trails in the near future.
Describe the predominant “style” of riding at your park? (Natural vs. Manmade, DH/Tech/Steep vs. Flow/Features) Typically, what kind of terrain do you have? (Rocky, Dry-dusty, Tacky, Roots)…
Most of our existing terrain is manmade downhill and features groomed dirt berms/features.
Is there a bike shop? Do you have rentals?
