Alyeska Resort Mountain Bike Festival

The Alyeska Resort Bike Park enjoyed a break-through third season this summer, with warm temperatures and dry trails contributing to record numbers of riders in the Bike Park. To celebrate a successful 2013 biking season, the resort is hosting the inaugural Mountain Bike Festival on September 20 – 22, 2013.
The festival will feature three days of biking-themed competitions and races along with live music nightly at the Sitzmark Bar & Grill. Featured events included in the festival will be a chainless downhill race, pond crossing, big air competition and wheelie contest. Participants can enter any race or event in the Mountain Bike Festival for free.
Once the competitions end, the festival moves inside the Sitzmark Bar & Grill. James Dalton will perform Friday and Saturday, September 20 and 21 from 7:30 P.M. to 8:30 P.M. and on Sunday, September 22 from 4:00 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. Whether he is banging on guitars, strumming autoharps or making mandolins weep, James Dalton is known for his foot-stomping style, breathtaking vocals and exciting harmonica playing.
Alaska’s favorite jam band, The Photonz, is headlining the festival, performing both Friday, September 20 and Saturday, September 21 from 10:00 P.M. to 1:00 A.M. The Photonz have been playing music across Alaska for years, and consistently sell out shows with their signature mix of bluegrass and jangly folk rock. Tickets to the concert cost $10 or free to those holding day bike park tickets or a mountain bike season pass.
Registration forms for all events and races will be available at the Daylodge Bike Hub and participants must register one hour in advance of each event start.
