Freeride with big hairy balls

I was here during the World Champs of 2011, held just over the hill in Champery. On days off from the World Champs, a lot of the competitors were coming to Chatel to get their mojo on. I think that tells you everything you need to know - the trails here are really variable - everything from big flowing open DH routes with some HUGE (but safe) gap jumps, to some of the biggest freeride and slopestyle stuff you'll find in Europe, and some steep rooty woods that were literally breaking pro riders when I was there. And of course, its all in the portes du soleil, so you can rock over the hill to Morzine, Avoriaz etc in an instant, too!

Pros: Huge potential if you fancy something testing and are getting bored of the same stuff in Morzine

Cons: If you aren''''t that experienced, the options are more limited here than other areas of the Portes du Soleil.
