Happy Birthday White Style –
The mountain bike event on snow celebrates 10 years
Design your own obstacle and win a VIP package including a
meet & greet, overnight stay and awesome prizes such as a GoPro HERO 4 Session
White Style premiered in 2006 in the Leogang Nitro Snowpark and had featured
jumps between 6 – 10 meters (20-35ft). Austrian rider Niki Leitner impressed the
judges with a huge superman seatgrab and claimed the first victory at a mountain
bike slopestyle event on snow. After that it was like a snowball effect – the venue
was moved, the course was longer and larger jumps were built and straight away big
names were signing up to compete in this unique event. Most of today’s freeride and
slopestyle stars have a history with White Style: the wild Spaniard Andreu
Lacondeguy won the contest in 2009 and two years later in 2011, Sam Pilgrim from
Great Britain earned himself a victory. This year, Szymon Godziek from Poland
stacked the highest score and took his first win of the season in Legoang. More
legends including Martin Söderström, Darren Berrecloth, Cam McCaul, Graham
Aggasiz, Trond Hansen or Jamie Goldman have all made their way to White Style in
the past.

Mountain bike slopestyle on snow celebrates a decade of action, January 2016 in
Saalfelden Leogang. White Style is an FMB Silver Event and attracts some of
the world’s best athletes. To celebrate the anniversary on January 29th,
Saalfelden Leogang is giving fans the chance to try their own skills on snow
during the Scott Snow Downhill Race as part of the LINES schneefräsn Cup.
Fans will also have the once in a lifetime opportunity to design their own
White Style obstacle which will be integrated into the huge course made of
snow. Judged by an expert panel, the winner of the design your obstacle
contest will receive a VIP package such as a meet&greet, overnight stay and
awesome prizes valued at over 1,500 Euro including a GoPro HERO 4
Session.

White Style is the earliest opportunity for athletes to show their new tricks – so as
the event grew – so did the trick level. In 2009 Lance McDermott (GBR) threw down
the first front flip tuck no-hander in an international mountain bike contest.
Unfortunately, he slipped a pedal but still claimed the “Sickest trick Award“. Sam
Reynolds was headline news in 2012 thanks to his massive double backflip. In 2013
the Russian showman Pavel Alekhin was a clear Best Trick winner with a backflip
double tailwhip. A year later in 2014, Nicholi Rogatkin began making ripples when he
landed the Cashroll on snow – just one year after Adrian Tell’s successful attempt in
2013.

Big names can only nail big tricks on big courses! Which is why the White Style
course has had to grow along with the sport. Over the years, the jumps have got
bigger, boner logs and igloo step-downs have been integrated. Now, you can also be
a White Style Champion! All you need to do is get creative! Design the obstacle you
would like to see in the 2016 White Style course and submit your drawing by
December 31st 2015. The winner will receive a VIP package such as a meet&greet,
overnight stay, awesome prizes valued at over 1,500 Euro including a GoPro HERO 4
Session and have the honor of watching the best slopestyle riders trick the feature!
MTB legend and sports director Tarek Rasouli, White Style host and director of the
Leoganger Bergbahnen Kornel Grundner, course designer Markus Hampl and last
year’s winner Szymon Godziek will decide which drawing will become real.
