Hacklberg at Saalbach

Something a bit different for Tuesday Trails this week - a change from the big hit, feature heavy jump trails to some natural high-alpine flowing singletrack... we head to Austria to check out the Hacklberg Trail at Saalbach-Hinterglemm bike park.

The Hacklberg Trail runs from the Schattberg summit in Saalbach, over the Westgipfel summit to Hinterglemm is one of the most beautiful singletrails in the valley. This natural, flowing trail begins right beside the top station of the Westgipfel lift, and heads off down towards Hacklbergeralm along a grassy ridge. It then continues next to a forest track on newly laid trails across meadows and through the forest until you get to the Westgipfel mid-station. There’s another track waiting, taking you into the valley. Once you get to the Westgipfel bottom station in Hinterglemm, it is then just a stone’s throw to the Reiterkogel lift, where the PRO and BLUE Lines begin. Fabulous Alpine panorama during a super-long descent!

The vid is from the brilliant Lahnvalley Crew based in the Leogang / Saalbach area and responsible for a host of other very cool riding videos so go to their website and check out what else the've been to.
