Bike park Špičák to extend Its operation

The chairlift in Špičák, Šumava Mountains, will provide services for both tourists and bikers during this season up to the end of October.

The permission obtained means that the use of the chairlift to the top of the hill is not limited to the originally planned date only (September 16). Both the chairlift and the bikepark will operate every day till Sunday, September 16, but then tourists as well as bikers can use the cableway for travels to the Špičák peak every weekend up to October 30, always at the time from 9:00 to 17:00. And next year, the weekend operation of both the cableway and the bikepark will be launched two weeks earlier, i.e. already from June 1.

“We believe that the extension of the operation will be used by visitors for an autumn trip when Šumava undergoes a beautiful change in colours. We expect also an interest on the part of bikers who could use only the neighbouring Geißkopf bikepark in that later year period during last years,” says Vladimír Kasík, co-owner of the Špičák facility.

All services in the bikepark will be operational over the weekend as well, i.e. the bike rental facility offering also protective equipment, technical assistance, showers, etc. The bikepark trails will be operational without any limitations. The tourists who do not want to use the four-seat cableway will be able to use, during the extended weekend operation, blue tourist signs leading along the blue downhill skiing course for walking up or down on the Špičák slope.
